@TimHoustonNS@FriendsOfStrait Re: expert panel for NPulp - Pulp industry created the mess in beginning. They aren’t schooled in marine biology, health, tourism or real estate. Even if indie they’d be biased regardless of environ. impacts #air#water#prosperity#allofthescience
So now you’re spreading your NPulp poison to other parts of the Province, taking Boat Harbour waste to Truro @AsiaPulpPaper @PaperExcellence@sinarmasAM

NPulp lost their social license because of their own greed. They broke record production levels while running with no air filtration @StephenMcNeil made tough decisions but right ones. 2 images that show what NP cared and didn’t care about @HebertsLaw @EllenPage @ecojustice_ca
It’s been a roller coaster week for PLFN on Boat Harbour & it’s not over yet. A recap.
Monday: Fed Environment Min Wilkinson disappoints PLFN with a surprise announcement - the feds will not do an impact assessment of Northern Pulp’s proposed effluent treatment facility. 1/9
NS Environment Minister Gordon Wilson has just decided that Northern Pulp must submit a full environmental assessment report. No approval today for NP. The science was just not there. This should mix any attempt to change the Boat Harbour closure date.
Northern Pulp has sent a letter to businesses asking if they’ll add their names as supporters in an ad going in the Herald. They’ve been doing a lot of business with @chronicleherald lately. It’ll be interesting to see who chooses to publicly support NP. #noextension#nopipe
It is mind boggling to me that pumping treated mill effluent into the waters between Nova Scotia and PEI can even be debated in 2019 given the history of what has taken place in Pictou County. Stunning. #nopipe@FriendsOfStrait@TOWNofPICTOU@nsgov @EllenPage @dave_gunning
Enviro activist killed in Indonesia - a disturbing pattern. This one defended locals against palm oil companies. Can’t help wonder if Northern Pulp’s palm oil sister company PT Smart involved? Both owned by Indonesian giant Sinar Mas. How does NP qualify for NS social assistance?
NP is that 89th mill & dirtiest of 89, in the “100th percentile”. It’s the reason they lost 100% of social licence and why can no longer co-exist within community. It’s not us & it’s not you @StephenMcNeil It’s them. #HonourTheBoatHarbourAct#NOEXTENSION#nopipe
@bonlynmac@matthewvaughan The EEM data shows that BH Basin reduces TSS in already treated effluent by ~80%. New facility would discharge direct into Strait without added bonus of BH Basin 80% improvement. & new retention time would be only ~8 hrs instead of ~30 days as it is now. #nopipe#noextension
@StephenMcNeil@JustinTrudeau@SeanFraserMP history will show these jobs were the most expensive jobs ever for the Province of NS - subsidies, cheap fibre, free water, bad pollution - the owners chose not to invest the real $ required #NOPIPE#noextension https://t.co/yXjj1wVvNV
@cleanthemill@StephenMcNeil An entire pulp mill was built in Port Hawkesbury in 1 yr yet NPulp couldn’t build a treatment system for existing mill in almost 5? They’re being disingenuous trying to force a delay. PLFN could have ended NP in 2014 but in good faith agreed to BH Act #noextension
