USA's Justice System=broken. Misconduct & lack of accountability among police.SROs lead 2 school 2 prison pipeline & mistreatment of special needs.Reform needed
Staged or not, know your rights. Please do not politely invite police into your home. They don’t come over to make friends! They come over to prove criminality regardless of whether or not they have “evidence” to back up their claims. Please-please-please be smart. Don’t buy their “I just want to chat with you for a minute” cock and bull claims. Cops have every intention turning your lives upside down and moving up the ranks in their jobs by their “genius”police work.
“Genius” police work=a police report that takes months to write as they try to muster up the inspiration for the tales they’ll tell, with a little bit of truth morphed into incriminating fiction.
@MrDrPee@ArvadaPolice You like how someone complained & the views of this post disappeared? Cops feign innocence & avoid accountability to get what they want & continue presenting themselves as heroes after botching situations up horribly.
Cops who don't pay attention to detail, who destroy innocent lives, they're despicable. Even when the wrongly accused are released from jail, when charges against them are dropped, when settlements are made...the damage from law enforcement's mistakes can linger for a lifetime! Time can't be regained, reputations can't be untainted, families and marriages can't be put back together, money spent on attorneys can't be recouped, the effects of stress & trauma on a body can't be reversed. If only cops were trained to keep this in mind as opposed to saying "If you're innocent, you've got nothing to worry about." FALSE. They have all the things listed here to worry about. To police, false charges and arrests are innocuous. For the victims of false arrests and charges, police mistakes are devastating.
FL police use A.I. to identify a vehicle theft suspect from surveillance video. Based on an "85% match" they arrest and charge Jalil Richardson. He spends 3 months in jail. He loses his job, his home, and custody of his kids.
Richardson lives in N.C.
He's never been to Florida. And his timesheet shows him at work at the time of the crime. No one checked before charging him. https://t.co/2AcQYwq30f
Did Toronto police go too far tackling cyclist to the ground for failing to stop at stop sign?
With police, it’s almost always over the top. https://t.co/3OS7fkSzRt
He asked if the cop should ask him to move first.
"Not necessarily." AKA: We COULD ask you to leave but instead we'll escalate the situation by jumping straight into telling an individual we'll arrest them for sitting on the sidewalk.
It's conveniently illegal to sit on a sidewalk.
A warning and a nice conversation would've been a decent way to handle this situation.
Cops are experts at traumatizing innocent people. They are often wrong in their perspective-taking, yet they double down. Pastor Jennings was watering his neighbor's flowers when police attempted to criminalize him. Cops are notorious for making false accusations then attempting to align them with any charge that might stick. There's no reason Pastor Jennings couldn't have given officers his ID, but he didn't break the law.
In a city like Boulder, in a state like Colorado, is anyone actually surprised? Colorado makes up countless dumb laws and functions like a sovereign nation. Yes, someone is surprised. The citizens of Calirado are surprised. They don't link the consequences of voting for extreme politics with the extreme results they get in return. Causation in action is what this is.
Boulder, Colorado police have repeatedly denied records requests by citizens for the information Flock cameras/drones/software/voice recordings/etc.... are collecting, storing, and selling 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
So, they're suing the city.
Who could have predicted these systems would be misused and would be used exploit law abiding American citizens just going about their lives? Everyone. Everyone with a brain and rudimentary knowledge of history did predict this...

Like @AttorneyCrump said, termination is important, but more important is getting to the root cause of the frequent use of excessive force by law enforcement who are meant to be the protectors of society. Cops are bullies and abusers on power trips.
The Shelby (NC) Police Department officer captured on doorbell camera punching a woman during an arrest has been fired. While termination for this officer's actions is an important step, it does not erase what the community witnessed! No one should have to fear excessive force at the hands of those sworn to protect and serve.
The couple wasn't causing any harm whatsoever. The police were looking for any opportunity to stroke their egos. Sure, check on the couple, make sure they're alive and there hasn't been a murder-suicide, then tell them good luck and go on your merry way, officers.
🚨 Two people and their cat sleeping in their car get turned into a full-blown police confrontation because the officers couldn’t handle being questioned.
No crime, no suspicion just ego, escalation, and an unnecessary arrest.

Most people don't realize cops are the enemy until they find themselves victims of cop corruption..
"Who are you going to call when you're in trouble?" is 100% a defensive statement made by people still naive to/unaware of the dangers police pose to their communities. No one is claiming cops aren't a necessary evil, like taxes and colonoscopies, but that doesn't mean they're trustworthy or friends. Proceed with caution.
Let kids know you’ll make private counseling available to them. School counselors do not receive the same training other mental health counselors do. School counselors can light up parents’ worlds like a box matches; all it takes is for a child to realize school counselors can be manipulated using a handful of buzzwords & suddenly they’ve got an attentive audience to complain to about parents who set and enforce rules at home. Parents do the real job…the difficult job.
@ForestMommy Never trust a school counselor. Never. If you are a parent, frequently remind them you’ll happily take them to a private counselor. Encourage avoidance of school counselors.
In the name of “protecting students,” adults are feeding into and indirectly encouraging lying, manipulation, and avoiding consequences and responsibility for their actions.
This teacher was in her 28th year of teaching.
One day she took a Monster drink away from a female student because they are not allowed to have those in class.
That same female student later on accused the teacher of inappropriately touching her.
The teacher was put on administrative leave because of that Title 6 complaint.
The female student’s mother, who works in the central office, dropped the complaint.
Fortunately, there are cameras in the classroom. The day of the supposed incident, the teacher wasn’t even working that day because of her mother’s recent death. The cameras found no evidence of inappropriateness.
But here is the kicker. Besides removing that student from this teacher’s classroom, nothing happened to her. No suspension, no expulsion, no punishment, no consequences whatsoever. Nothing was done and that is what the problem is in this day and age. No consequences for children.
That student should have received a suspension at the very least. I would even go so far to say she should have been expelled from that school. Even with the truth coming out, sometimes the damage is already done.
What would you have done if you were this teacher? Can’t sue the child, sue the parents maybe? What are her options?
This question is a winner. Why aren’t police open to feedback that will help them strengthen their skills, & why can’t they express gratitude to the brave individuals who provide them with true feedback, even complaints? Why are those who share feedback considered enemies? “Feedback welcome” would be a decent motto that would reduce citizens needing to file complaints.
