I am utterly disappointed with how the FFXIV dev team handled this FFV reference as a whole
so much so that I don't trust they will do well with future callbacks to past games, deeper than just surface level references

like I actually hate that they used FFV as veneer for OC

like, if they used a different aesthetic but kept all the mechanics and systems intact, I wouldn't've batted an eye
but the fact that they used an FFV theme has to carry some weight and expectations from the people who loved that game that I feel was used irresponsibly here
