I finally figured out what this election reminds me of. Brexit. Passed in a wave of ignorant jingoism. Almost immediately regretted when people found out what it actually meant.
Our prosecutors completely failed us.
They had 4 years to enforce the laws against Trump, and they delayed, and they hesitated, and they were too cautious, and they finally went after him -- but it was too little, too late.
History will judge them, if there is any history left.

It’s going to be wild to watch the Trump administration claim the election gives them a “mandate” to implement Project 2025, when they spent the entire election telling people they were actually against it.
And the media will largely shrug.
It's still kind of ridiculous to me that so many newspaper staffs are bifurcated into "the writers who aren't allowed to express opinions" and "the writers who aren't required to engage with facts."
