Happy to present our newest work! Grown out of frustration with current chemical tools, we developed a new pan-active DHHC inhibitor for the study of protein S-acylation (palmitoylation)

Excited to share our group's most recent work out today in @CellReports:
In this paper, we discover ERK1/2 are regulated by dynamic lipidation - illuminating a new layer of control for these critical cellular kinases

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2022 #NobelPrize in Chemistry to Carolyn R. Bertozzi, Morten Meldal and K. Barry Sharpless “for the development of click chemistry and bioorthogonal chemistry.”
Check out our most recent work on DHHC inhibitors! Lovely paper led by group members Saara-Anne and @ClemyDela, along with help from @LanT_763 and @CBwolfTQ. Our first true medicinal chemistry paper...cool insights and A LOT of molecules 🙃

Very thankful about the opportunity to share experience with TransCure fellows and reconnect with others. So much nostalgia being there for this last retreat!
Some covers for academic journals I could design.
I always like to pack some actual data into it. The first two contain scatter plots, the third a ridge plot, and the fourth the 3D PCA of @DrugBankDB molecules in VR.

David Julius – awarded this year’s #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine – utilised capsaicin, a pungent compound from chilli peppers that induces a burning sensation, to identify a sensor in the nerve endings of the skin that responds to heat.
Our new DHHC inhibitor story is out now in @ChemicalBiology. This was a huge amount of work over years and required an incredible team effort. Let us know if you want some CMA - and look out for more molecules and screening approaches coming next!
