@IronOmie @ut1trey @VisionaryVoid @Morbidful who have achieved the minimum standard. Some schools just run swimming for one or two terms in Y3 or 4. Others do intensive swimming , e.g. every day for a week or two. Smaller schools may take the younger pupils too.

@IronOmie @ut1trey @VisionaryVoid @Morbidful …some schools ask parents to make a contribution as they have to pay for hiring the pool as well as tuition and transport, but this basic swimming offer is compulsory in UK primary schools (Key Stage 2) and schools have to publish the % of pupils leaving the school at age 11 …

@ut1trey @VisionaryVoid @Morbidful It is compulsory in the UK in primary school. All pupils should be able to swim unaided for at least 25m and know how to self rescue (what to do if they fall into deep water)
