“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.” — Terry Pratchett
Give God your past. Forgive the people who offended you. Forgive yourself and let it go. It’s better in the hands of God. Don’t let negative emotions define your life. God doesn’t allow it to define you, and neither should you.
You weren’t created to live in a proving mode, trying to impress others. That’s time and energy that you need for your dreams, your goals. Instead of impressing people, we should spend our time impressing God.
Be especially wary of those who comment from the stands without having played on the field themselves and who don't have good logic, as they are dangerous to themselves and others. #principleoftheday (2/2)
Quit being frustrated by people who are not for you, people that make negative comments and try to discredit you, marginalize you. You’re not defined by what they say. They don’t control your destiny. That’s just noise. Don’t give them the time of day.
Thanks to everyone who has reached out to me after listening to my podcast interview on This Week in Startups. Many nice notes from old friends and colleagues, and tons of outreach from new acquaintances. https://t.co/rCldUbJAQV
In my first year of b-school I desperately wanted an internship at Amazon. They weren't recruiting from Michigan so I asked everyone I knew if they had any contacts. My parents' friends' daughter's boyfriend had gone to b-school with Andy Jassy, early marketing manager at Amazon.
