@DaraghCassidy The bollards are nearly in middle of footpath....so they still give room to get one tyre up on to kerb. Surely at volume DCC are ordering a better kerb socket solution closer to edge could have been done...
@declanganley@DavidAltonHL 160 Mw Combined Heat and Power plant exporting a suplrus of 115MW into grid.. And I guess if you dont produce alumina, that CHP plant wont operate..
@Galwaybaywatch@CaolanReports@RhonddaBryant@Keir_Starmer That map.. do we know why towns like Enfield and Prosperous are on it.. Its not like these towns have domestic gas supplies, I assume its to power stations or large industrial customers. However they should make it clear.
@irish_organic Most of these seed mixes, are full of ballast. It sorta does help spreading, as I did find the packet went much furter than planned.... but it mostly helps profits.
@giveashitnature Is there a living hedge culture in USA. In IRL/UK there is hedgelaying where over years plants are 7/8 cut at the base and laid over. This damage encourages thicker regrowth. No flowering tips are destroyed, but brought down to ground level and to suitabel nesting height for birds
@declanganley Some opposing ideas of free markets and strong national supply there. The west is most at threat not from ignoring above, but that we are handing over our future to some of people who espouse loudly all of the above, but ignore the political ideals to deal with the tradeoffs.
@james_tooh20752@Nick_Delehanty Their incapable of being reused. They have fake irish street look, but basically the buildings are too deep for living and optimized for storage and artificial light and very often only have one aspect and poor services.
@judesherry Homes are also a national asset. A home returned quicker is one less family needing supports, a home renovated to standards is one more health challenged individiual which can recover in a warm clean home.
@Clearpreso@naoisen True, but contra-point here, small councils can be suberted by large corps. building power or giga factory. Hamstrung by complex planning laws and costly legal battles, some are buckling . In certain cases, enlarging councils or adding sensible central oversight is needed
@declanganley Price caps breed shortages, lower quality, and black markets, but many industrialists (space/tech/pharma) thrive on gov contract & support, cheap energy, land and eco regulations &having lovvyists to bend policy to their whim... Can you suport transparency and end cronyism there
@codohertynews Each of dublin councils report separately, so you might think seapoint is grand, but then you find out its a diff council& while they might not allow or disown it there are some who use canal or paddle/play in dodder as a measure of quality they should be tested and reported
@fmod1@RMcGreevy1301 What good is adding more derelict sites to an incapable council. Private individuals will have better tenacity to fix a site than a moribund bearacratic council. Yea keeps lots of the council busy , reviewing, planning, reporting and financing it, but actual action almost ZERO.
@frpaddybyrne Aye, but very often those with courage to act even when change doesnt appear possible, helps others stand up and light the way to change.
@DubLoony@MichealMartinTD@HMcEntee This is crazy.. surely this would have been chance to let more people see workings of EU, or again is it somehting closed off and for insiders only
@codohertynews They also only test 'official sites'. Dont think suir road canal lock or underneat m50 overpass or indeed samples from the the dodder where there are kids paddling are not on it.
@SafeCyclingEire@conormolloy@RSAIreland electric assist triwheel cargo with gears, flat screen prompts, hands free call from tester , and mild distractions to simulate driver‑level cognitive load..
@Mickmac3210@rtenews Used to pay wages..isnt that what they are meant to do like counsellors in addiction services, nurses in hospices, security in night-shelters. where else would it go..
@jasonomahony Big part was switching to gas.that solution is not available now for midland towns to switch away from solid fuels, despite gas grid being present in those towns. Many of the houses are unsuitable for heat pump upgrades. Gas grid is being built to generate power for data centres
