One example is Gibraltar, which is now gaining independence and rejoining the EU. Yes you are correct, we will not get the same

After gaining indy, we can join that very union of equals (each country can veto anything, unlike UK union).

Scottish people in Scotland and Europeans in Europe want Scotland to be a part of the EU and to get independence.
