@SenWhitehouse I love Sen Whitehouse work as well as the sociologists who have been describing the corporate scheming. But it is not getting media coverage which unfortunately is focused on taditional political issues such as the economy and migrants .
@MichaelEMann @LyndallTerrier Michael this may be of help or not
I would suggest you take a look at the list of scheming steps identified by Senator Whitehouse
@MichaelEMann @sandergeelen Michael This craziness is the result of the fossil fuel company financed disinformation campaign convincinced citizens that climate change is a hoax when every country in the UN when i was Program Manager for UN Organizations at EPA agreed climate change was human caused .
@MichaelEMann I have thought about making a claim that future CO2e atmospheric concentrations are now likely to be so high in the near future given CO2e lasts in the atmosphere for very long times that phasing out of fossil fuels may become ethically compelling. Any thoughts? Don Brown
@TimmonsRoberts I dont know for sure but those articulating concerns about waste toxicity may be connected to fossil fuel interests who have been pushing concerns about renewable energy.
As I've said before of climate change-driven extreme weather disasters, uninsurability is the first step down the path to uninhabitability:

A group of scientists traveled to the Dagu Glacier in southwestern China, located in the Tibetan Plateau, to cover part of it in a new reflective sheet aimed at shielding it from the sun and slowing ice melt. By @sharonchenhm with @luzdingyu at @climate... https://t.co/H6rvwQhf5W
@MichaelEMann I think the issue of our time is what do we expect of governments as we approach the next COP in UAE the fall. Many governments are committing to net zero co2. This is required morally to achieve Paris warming limits but to keep elevated atmospheric co2 from harming world.
@MichaelEMann@KaminskiMed Michael i am very disappointed that the media is not paying attention to whether US co2 emissions are rising or what the rate of change is because it leaves the impression there is no urgency.
@Revkin@IPCC_CH It is astonishing to me that the Times does not link specific climate harms to US emissions which now that there is a loss and damages mechanism the US is likely going to start paying for under a different equity formula than the equity formula articulated by IPCC.
@NaomiOreskes Naiomi we met at Penn State and i have always been an admirer of your work. You may be intersted that when Powell wrote his infamous memo the US and States were making significant progress in cleaning up air and water pollution from toxics following the advice of Rachel Carson.
@NaomiOreskes@BloomsburyPub @agent_ayesha @ErikMConway Yes this is what happened. Unfortunately not enough Americans are aware of it including academics in environmental studies.
