126 governments have now committed to Net Zero (including China, Japan and South Korea in the last few weeks). None have spelled out how they will get there. The behaviour change require is extraordinary. Companies will play a vital role. (3/3)
Currently, it is often hard to measure a firm's true carbon footprint and assess efforts to reduce it. UK will become the first advanced economy to make TCFD reporting mandatory (New Zealand did so in September). The vast majority of UK firms will have to comply by 2023. (2/2)
New: this afternoon the chancellor will announce that UK companies will be forced to begin clearly reporting their impact on the climate, in line with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures, by 2025. This is a very big deal. (1/3)
