A morning at Scout crags with the McIntyre family from Southern Ireland. An RCI course was in progress when we arrived and they Kindly let us whatever bits of the crag we wanted :-)
Lovely and sunny again, expecting showers later though!
A day off for us today, so of course we went climbing. Out with good pal Sam for a trip up the classic 'Eliminate A' on Dow crag. It's been years since I'd climbed this route, every bit as good as I remembered it being :-)
A shorter day today with Mikka as trains await back to the big smoke. Castle Rock for 4 routes at VD - Severe, finishing with Via Media in one long pitch. Aching muscles all round now :-)
Back out with Mikka today. This time in the wonderful Duddon valley.
We climbed: Wall & corner - VD; Trinity slabs - VD; and Thomas - Severe.
Quite a few folk out enjoying the sunny crag and splendid views :-)
El scorcio on Raven crag today with 2 families from Chelmsford and Sydney.
Despite their being lots of people out and about in the Lakes enjoying the fantastic weather, we had this place to ourselves :-)
A great intro to Lakes climbing today for Mikka. 3 cracking routes at Raven crag in Langdale, really sociable on there today with loads getting done. Likely up to Borrowdale tomorrow :-)
Glorious conditions for a dip in Hause Ghyll, Borrowdale. We've been working for our friends at Lakes Outdoor Experience this afternoon and had the pleasure of introducing a group of university students to the joys of Ghyll Scrambling :-)
Helvellyn today, for a change :-)
Weather was kind and we had wonderful views from the summit. Thanks to Natalie, James, Amelia, and Matt for the good company

Stickle Ghyll was at a rather refreshing temperature this morning! Good to see everyone going for it and braving the waters for a swim. Now it's time for a hot chocolate :-)
As it's been a bit nippy in the Lakes today, we decided a nice fell run would warm us up! Just a short one, but enough for an evening run. Up Red Screes from Kirkstone and followed the broad ridge back... https://t.co/WrjsSDDJQx
With a very chilly wind blowing, we stayed in the valley to climb today. Our thoughts being somewhere like Raven crag in Langdale would offer most shelter and sun. Well it wasn't quite like that, although... https://t.co/p0zcBBNLH9
Another day of CPD, this time it was all about teaching self rescue skills and techniques to climbers. Been really nice to share ideas, learn a few new tricks, and do some climbing :-)
Today I was out on a course, which makes a nice change. Refreshing skills and picking up and sharing tips and tricks all about teaching rock scrambling. The sun shone again all day in the Langdale valley
More outstanding weather on the Scafells today. We've been out with the Vincent family who are visiting the area from Essex. Plenty of walkers out enjoying more spring sunshine and big views. We could just make out the Isle of Man from the summit of Scafell Pike
Steel Knotts Bluff in Borrowdale today with the Michie family. A wonderfully rough glaciated slab set above the valley floor, so views over Derwent Water to Skiddaw are lovely too. Lost count of how many climbs we did, about 7 :-)
