[BREAKING] The Department of Home Affairs has withdrawn the contentious asylum intake directive to refugee reception centres. The decision to process all asylum seekers had sparked violent protests. Tune in to #eNCA on #DStv403 for the latest updates.
We need a press conference with the President and the police minister fully re-instating him to his job.
The same energy used to remove him during Project Diversion must be expended to return him. He had nothing to do with Vusi Matlala and they wanted to embarrass him.
I need to say something as a man.
What is happening to women in South Africa is heartbreaking and unacceptable. Seven womenβs deaths are now part of the investigation in Ekurhuleni, with several of the women found partial naked.

And if you are a man who has ever crossed that line, including me, we need to be honest enough to confront ourselves and change.
Silence cannot be our response anymore.
We cannot keep saying "not all men" while women are burying their sisters, daughters and mothers.
If you have information, give it to the police. If you see a friend abusing a woman, don't protect him because he's your friend. If you are angry, jealous, drunk or hurt, walk away. Don't put your hands on a woman. Don't threaten her. Don't stalk her. Don't force yourself on her
And every woman deserves to be able to walk, run, go to work, go out, come home and live her life without having to wonder whether a man is going to hurt her.
To the men who know something about these cases: SPEAK.
Women need protection from violence. And men need to take responsibility for the behaviour of men.
We cannot only speak when it happens to someone we know.
We have mothers. Sisters. Daughters. Grandmothers. Partners. Friends.
For a long time, some of us men have complained that the system does not listen to us or that women are always believed. But seeing what is happening now has made me look at that differently.
I am currently out on bail in a GBV-related matter. My case is my case, and the truth of it will be dealt with through the proper process. But whether I like it or not, this situation has forced me to look at myself and at the responsibility men have towards women.
