But that's what a rule is. If they want to rescind the rule, great. I'm all for it. But selectively applying the rules is favoritism. Which is a bad look, imo.
the rule was instituted after the Malice and there were good reasons for that. It's also been 20 years since the Malice and that's not to say it can't happen again but the league is just a LOT different. That rule cost the Suns the 2007 NBA championship.
The league should not be beholden to repeat previous bad decisions out of precedent.
