@kukovisuals Yes, I agree that motivation should be intrinsic, yet there is great joy to be had from seeing your work make the lives of others just a bit better.
I don't think living in a world where nothing we did would change anything for anyone would be a net positive for our happiness

There's a slight dread I feel while watching AI improve so fast. I'm not sure how humanity would cope if even our most creative minds cannot match the inventiveness of AI, if we got defeated in every aspect that makes us human. We need to dream big, will that still be possible?

@erisreg Thanks for the recommendations. I used to use a program called "Kalles Fraktaler 2" for exploring fractals, but that was a long time ago, not sure if it still exists.

I asked Fable to generate a completely new fractal that looks gorgeous but hasn’t been explored by any human before.

It generated what it called “The Mirage Set”, and it does look beautiful.

@erisreg I hope you are right, but we will have to see. People also kept saying machines would never beat humans at chess because it required a kind of human intuition they would never have, then Deep Blue happened

Still don't know what my "big goal" is with shader creation to be honest. Maybe have my art displayed in a physical location, or make album cover art for a band that I like. Not sure how I should even start working towards that though

@XorDev Probably mix/lerp, nice for continuous transformations in shaders, also often used for proving stuff in math
