Dear Mr. President H.E. Bobi Wine,
We greet you with deep respect, Sir.

Today we reach out not just as supporters, but as Ugandans who are hurting, worried, and afraid for one of our own Fred Lumbuye.
His life is hanging in the balance. Every day he remains where he is, the danger grows.
We are pleading with you, Mr. President, from the bottom of our hearts, to make a public appeal for his safe relocation to a country where he can breathe, speak, and live without fear.

You have stood with Ugandans before you lifted up Dr. Spire Ssentongo and others when they needed help or protection. You reminded us that we are strongest when we stand together. Today, we need that same strength again.

Fred Lumbuye has sacrificed so much. He has spoken boldly against Dictator Museveni’s regime, knowing very well the price that truth-tellers often pay. Because of his courage, he is being hunted. Because of his voice, they want him silenced. We cannot lose him. Not now. Not in this critical moment of our struggle.

Mr. President, your voice carries hope. It reaches millions across the world. When you speak, people listen. When you call, people respond. We believe in you truly, deeply, that your intervention could save Fred’s life.

Uganda still needs him. Our movement still needs him. The dream of a free Uganda still needs him. We cannot allow fear to erase another patriot. We cannot allow darkness to swallow another voice fighting for the light.

Please, Mr. President. Help us protect him. Help us keep him alive. Help us keep the fire of liberation burning.

Dr. Jimmy Spire Ssentongo @SpireJim has spent years using his voice and talents to hold power accountable as his contribution towards a better society for us all.

Instead of honoring his work, the regime is actively working to silence him through, among other oppressive tactics. A court order was recently issued against him, by which he is required to pay a total of UGX 30,000,000/= within 14 days or spend three months in prison. Why? Because he made a post on his social media platform calling out an injustice that, in the court's wisdom, amounts to contempt.

I am calling on all Ugandans of good conscience, in Uganda and abroad, to stand with Dr. Spire in whatever way we can, and help him resolve this challenge.
