@LordWoolamaloo No unfortunately not. Several years ago officers, under delegated authority, gave a contract to occupy the steps and the South upper path. This contract had no date that they had to be reopened.
My understanding is that it could be another two years.

@thecockburn At what point are Council Officers, as opposed to Councillors, held to account on such matters? Lawrence is sitting there on his very high £200k/annum salary yet doesn't seem to be accountable for such errors. In the private sector he, at a mimimum, would be moved sidewards.

Scot Gov has a fixed budget which was set before this massive increase in inflation.Westminster must release funding to make a decent offer.
