Another Ireland Is Possible
📍Landsdowne Hotel North Belfast
🗓️THIS THURSDAY 28th of May 7pm
This is an opportunity for people from all backgrounds to come together and have their say.
I have contacted SNP leader John Swinney and Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth to congratulate them on their enormous mandates.
For the first time ever, there could be three pro-independence First Ministers across these islands.
More and more people are looking towards a future beyond the constraints of the Union.
I look forward to continuing to build the friendship between the people of our nations, and to working closely with both John and Rhun in the time ahead.
Springhill Inquest Findings: None of the victims posed a threat.
All were aimed shots.
All represented unreasonable force by the British Army.
Father Noel Fitzpatrick and father of 6 Patrick Butler were killed by the same bullet.
All killings were violations of British Army's own Yellow Card rules.
John Dougal (16yrs): shot by Soldier A while running away and trying to find cover, he may have been armed but Coroner declared that irrelevant.
Father Noel Fitzpatrick: was shot by Soldier A while trying to minister to injured/dead/dying. The British soldier would have seen that he was unarmed.
Patrick Butler: was shot and killed by Soldier A while he was assisting Father Fitzpatrick. The British soldier would have seen he was unarmed.
David McCafferty (14yrs): was killed by Soldier A while trying to retrieve Father Fitzpatrick's body. The British soldier would have seen he was unarmed.
Margaret Gargan (13yrs): was unarmed and posed no threat when killed by Solider E.
Our sincere thoughts and gratitude are with these extraordinary families this evening. They have borne unmerciful hardship and trauma. Their courage in the face of the British state's impunity has been truly inspiring.
Our Upper Falls Sinn Féin team is working hard on your behalf.
We’re committed to delivering real improvements across West Belfast, and will continue working as hard as we possibly can to support our constituents.
Ní neart go cur le chéile 💚
Great turnout for our Upper Falls AGM today.
We have a big year ahead of us planning for unity and supporting those across West Belfast.
Ar aghaidh linn le chéile 💚
We’re absolutely delighted that the Infrastructure Minister has just announced that work is due to begin immediately on the resurfacing of the Creighton Road.
We will post further updates in the morning to inform people of diversions and road closures over the next few weekends.
Friday meeting with our Upper Falls team 🥰
Our Sinn Féin team will continue working hard on your behalf to ensure that West Belfast continues to be a great place to live, providing the best services and opportunities possible.
Out in Lenadoon last night with @SiobhanMc80 & @cllrardercarson talking to people about the local issues we’re working on.
Residents were pleased with the recent resurfacing works & improvements to the play park. We’ll continue working hard to deliver for our communities.
Loyalist paramilitary threats to Belfast City Council facilities must be unequivocally opposed.
Political leaders must unite in unequivocal opposition to these threats.
Paramilitaries have no place in our society.
These criminal gangs to disband and leave the stage completely.
Thousands marched along the Falls Road today to honour the ten brave men who laid down their lives for the freedom of their country.
For them, we will do the work, we will walk the extra yards, we will write our nation's next chapter – Ireland, united and free.
We're delighted that Half Moon Lake has been awarded a Green Flag! 🌿
Massive thanks to @cllrardercarson for the brilliant work he’s done to help bring the area back to life, and to Friends of the Half Moon Lake, Men’s Shed, Belfast City Council, and all who care for the space.
Another 5G mast was destroyed in West Belfast yesterday. Those responsible are putting lives at risk and must be held accountable.
Their actions are making it harder for people to contact doctors, emergency services and loved ones. It’s causing real harm, it needs to stop now.
The investment will maximise the potential for enhanced community outcomes, improving social connectivity, reducing isolation, increasing resilience and supporting good mental health.
Genocide is unfolding before our eyes.
Babies in Gaza are being starved to death.
Whole families are slaughtered by a genocidal, out-of-control Israeli regime.
Yet it’s Kneecap, who are using their voice to expose this genocide, who face charges by British police.
Outrageous!
