So sad Mole Valley Libdems supported £600,000 extra 'unexpected costs' approved for Dorking Halls and are planning on kicking out an established business to store beer kegs for the council run bar - while traders say Leatherhead High Street hasn't been properly cleaned in months.

These are discarded 3G football/sports pitches.

There are 20,000 ground-up tyres on a single full size 3G pitch. Tyres spontaneously combust, especially during a heatwave. This is why you no longer see farms with tyres holding down the tarpaulin covering their hay bales. This practice was banned decades ago.

But why are they being stored on a farm? Probably because there are no government protocols for sensible disposal at end-of-use and the farmer was paid a good sum for "disposing" them by the contractor who ripped them up for an even higher amount.

It would be interesting to know how many 3G pitches were replaced in the local area and who ripped them up.

Ashtead Football Club has been refused their application for a certificate of commencement of their planning consent. This was decided by Council planning officers, not Councillors, in a Decision Notice dated today. So the old permission has indeed lapsed.
