In the era of #ArtificialIntelligence, when human dignity is threatened by new forms of dehumanization, ours is the pressing duty to remain profoundly human. Latest @WHO health data show that since 2010 there have been declines:
- of 40% in new #HIV infections
- in tobacco use and alcohol consumption
- of 36% in people needing interventions for neglected tropical diseases
But here are some of the challenges:
- malaria incidence increased 8.5%
- anemia affects over 30% of women of reproductive age, with no improvement over the past decade
- prevalence of overweight among children under five reached over 5%
- violence against women remains widespread
These data tell a story of both progress and persistent inequality, with many people, especially women, children and those in underserved communities, still denied the basic conditions for a healthy life.
Investing in stronger, more equitable health systems, including resilient health data systems, is essential to achieve #HealthForAll.
