@jeremydoddjd There is a hand/pointer at the other end of the arbor or a square? Seems strange the arbor isnt supported at the other end, does the case interact with it in any way? I guess you can rivet your rise-and-fall cam on there and as you say, make a see-saw type device...
The @heritage_crafts are doing an incredible job to promote and champion endangered crafts.

The @Wren300M Stone Carving Competition @HolySepulchreUK has come to a close. What a incredible demonstration of skill and creativity. All 11 stone carvers have created remarkable Wren-inspired designs. Congratulations goes to Jessica Eyre the winner.

@A_Mechanician@WorldbyRead Continue to teach and share and encourage others. I guess you get to a stage where it doesnt get any 'better' in terms of exposure to objects. Names are nice of course but I think there is a wider 'calling'.
@WorldbyRead@TobiasBirch@York_Minster Since my @westdeancollege dissertation on the subject of clock lines, I have made a case for the use of natural gut or a simulated/synthetic equivalent on domestic clocks, for what I believe there are technical/mechanical and arguably, aesthetic reasons. https://t.co/HhseQw9vP5

Not that I'm aware of. Many books out there that look at particular areas of interest. One of the best and most accessible research resources is a membership to @thestoryoftime Their free-to-members journal and the Journal of the @clockandwatchuk is fully digitised, searchable.
"The domestic act of folding sheets with maternal figures on a Sunday afternoon is a familiar memory for people like us...As a child it becomes a space to access knowledge that one can't find or receive in any other context."
