How the first day of the covid tracker app looks: 800k total downloads, on average ~10 check-ins per second (in reality this would have come in bursts), and anecdotally a few very small outages (network lost, numbers zeroed, T&Cs missing)

I did decide to install the app myself (obviously, screenshots) because from the docs and the open sourced code it seems to me that a real effort to preserve privacy was made, while still providing a tool that Might help save lives and livelihoods. Fair dues to the makers.
