@swimswim48 I hate to speculate but she was seriously (and mysteriously) ill last fall, and I can’t help but wonder if some of the long term affects of that haven’t resurfaced, or if in light of that she feels pressure to push forward. If so that’s a bummer.
@swimswim48 “Please don’t drink the pool water!” should still be concern 1 at that age, maybe what to wear for the costume parade at 8 and under champs. Obviously work on the fundamentals and learn to enjoy competing in a healthy way, but let’s not burn out a 1st grader.
@ContraPoints Regrettably growing up often means realizing that the feeling you imbued on your parents because you, as a child without sense of separate self, assumed the intense connection was mutual, is not in fact real. They had their own separate conditions for loving you.
@EoinHiggins_ I tend to agree—I grew up just over the border in Connecticut and see all manner of right wing nonsense, but drive 20 minutes north and the cultural shift is immediately evident.
@PulpLibrarian Like “Stuart Saves His Family”, it’s more touching than it has any right to be, but unlike Stuart it stays light and has some quotably funny moments, and Ackroyd is clearly enjoying being his unmasked self on screen. It’s alright!
@MrFrangie1@realEstateTrent That’s Lake George village—there are beautiful areas around the lake to visit—the village itself is fun for a kitschy day trip though, as long as that is what you are expecting.
