Independent Study Identifies Rayvolve® as the Most Accurate AI for Fracture Detection

📖 A recent comparative study published in @RadiographyJour evaluated the performance of three commercially available AI tools for fracture detection and other applications.

Conducted at the Technical University of Munich between January and March 2025, the study included 1,037 adult patients, representing 2,926 radiographs. Radiologists’ reports served as the reference standard, with CT scans used for adjudication when available (10% of cases).

Among the tested tools, Rayvolve® shows the best overall performance:
➤ For all fractures, Rayvolve® achieved higher AUC scores (+1 and +8 points) and greater sensitivity (+4 and +19 points) compared to its competitors, with no significant differences in specificity.
➤ In cases involving osteosynthesis material, Rayvolve® again outperformed the other tools, showing notably higher AUC (+6 and +19 points) and sensitivity (+19 and +48 points), while maintaining comparable specificity.
➤ For multiple fractures, Rayvolve® also led in AUC (+4 and +9 points) and sensitivity (+12 and +22 points).
➤ No significant differences were observed among the three algorithms for acute fractures.

Rayvolve® provided the most consistent screening signal in fracture detection, supporting a second-eye workflow, both in the presence of metal hardware and in trauma patients with multiple injuries.

In a recent national media segment in Slovenia, Dr Sedevčič, Head of the Emergency Department at a general hospital in Nova Gorica, showed how AZtrauma detects even subtle fractures on X‑ray images, including paediatric cases in which growth plates and low‑contrast details make interpretation challenging.
