One of the most encouraging developments of this election is that Kamala Harris has clearly learned something that Democrats have traditionally refused to accept:
For purposes of winning an election, policy doesn’t matter. (1/)
@jonlovett I had to drive to Wisconsin to get in on the fun today! (Brought my @votesaveamerica water bottle I got from you guys at the Chicago happy hour)
@slocumfortexas@MeghanMcCain He actually said just regular citizens should have less voting power if they don’t have kids. So he’s against for everyone, not just presidents.
4/ Here are Harris's results.
From 2021-23:
- Hondurans encountered at the border dropped by 50%
- El Salvadorian encounters dropped by even more - 60%
- Migration from Guatemala dropped by 50%.
- And even Mexican migration - the steadiest flow - dropped by 6%.
@DevlDWG @LitmusTaster2 @cmclymer Closed primaries means you have to be registered Republican to vote for Haley in the primary. Sometimes with registration deadlines months in advance. Very, very few people would put that kind of effort in just to mess with the numbers.
@lovetesla2030 @RondaSantis2 @pesach_lattin You’re right winning the popular vote doesn’t mean you get to be president, just means you’re more popular. (Ie pretty much always the democrats, we don’t get the head start of two extra electoral votes in every unpopulated state.)
