We are a coalition of grass-roots groups organising against the Home Office housing of asylum seekers in Napier Barracks, an old army accommodation in Kent.
Our govt plans to warehouse people seeking asylum in "unlawful" disused Kent army barracks for 5 more years! To mark 1 year of #NapierBarracks we are taking to the streets to demand they EMPTY THE BARRACKS & CLOSE ASYLUM CAMPS. Join us https://t.co/8Gl4oteJvo #closethecampsuk
Patel's new Borders Bill is cruel, dangerous & the latest report indicates it will breach international & domestic law in at least 10 different ways.
Alongside groups across the country, we will continue to oppose it at every turn. #RefugeesWelcome

Tory support for letting asylum seekers work is mounting. Following Raab's comments @SteveBakerHW and @DSimmonds_RNP have both told me in strong terms that they support it (quotes added to story below). @RobertBuckland has said it is 'well worth a look'
Over to @ukhomeoffice..
We visited this accommodation and spoke with some of the men there. It is utterly appalling that the @ukhomeoffice is forcing these men to live in this way. No covid safety, living on dorms, did the outbreak on Napier not cause enough harm? #wearewitnesses
🚨TOMORROW join @closecampsuk @ Parliament Sq, 1 year since #NapierBarracks opened. We demand that the @ukhomeoffice#CLOSETHECAMPS and shut down all degrading and inhumane asylum camps.
Solidarity with all migrants housed in unsanitary, unsafe & dehumanising accommodation!✊🏾

Detaining asylum seekers & refugees in army barracks is inhumane
On Sept 28 @closecampsuk will be in Parliament Square at 12.30 for a solidarity demo to demand the Home Office empty the barracks and close asylum camps.

@jaxmac69@CarolineLucas It hasn't been used for soldiers for many years and even then it definitely wasn't seen as a nice place to be staying. Many people who are living in the Barracks are survivors of war and torture, imagine how triggering that is?
Thank you to all who made the #JusticeforSimba Carnival of Resistance a success! 🎉
Thank you Sheffield for great welcome 🙏🏽 For anyone who couldn't be with us in person, please keep sharing Simba's petition https://t.co/el0LaiNDlm

1. In light of the announcement that our Government plans on continuing to use the site to accommodate asylum seekers until 2025, we are left with no other option than to challenge this decision and call for its closure in the courts.
We want to amplify voices of those with lived experience of seeking asylum whether they've stayed in Napier Barracks or not. If you have something you'd like to share, to send to us to read out, or record your speech for us to play get in touch [email protected]
This is what it looks like to be forced to flee.
You pick up whatever you can carry, you grab your loved ones and whatever cash you can, and you run.
If someone offers you a way to get out, you take it, because whatever the route - it's safer than staying put.

https://t.co/SFAMxi3EUo It is deplorable that the Home Office continues to use accommodation of this kind to accommodate people seeking safety. Yesterday we spoke with men held in Napier who are unvaccinated and afraid, they told us this was inevitable.
