Truly honored to receive the 'Dr. A.S. Mukherjee Memorial Prize' from ISCB President Prof. Ghaskadbi @indian_hydra for my oral presentation at the 47th All India Cell Biology Conference. Grateful for the incredible support from @iambhavanat, @Arunkumar071199 & @Sleeping_Pratty!
Super excited to share our new publication in NMR in Biomedicine (https://t.co/mZv6qAfw8m)
'Geometry matters in Gliomas'. In this study we have investigated the complex geometric structures of glioma tumors, specifically their enhancing regions, non-enhancing areas, necrotic cores, and edema, using non-Euclidean measures like fractal dimension (FD) and lacunarity (Lac). We report that IDH mutant gliomas exhibited greater fractality and lower lacunarity in enhancing regions (malignant part of tumor) compared to IDH-wild type gliomas. Using Fractality and lacunarity, we present that these geometric metrics could serve as non-invasive quantity for glioma characterization and prognosis. Congratulations my team @IISER_BERHAMPUR@nehayadav1211@ankit@Aswin
How can we use cell shapes and geometry to study mechanics of tissues?
I'm @JuliaEckert10 and with this thread I would like to show you the secrets of cells and tissues. Let’s connect biology with a little bit of physics. Don't be scared and get inspired 😀. #EpithelialMechanics
Still novice in this field, all sorts of criticisms and advises and comments are entertained.

Congratulations to Mr. Ritwik, a third-year BS-MS student and research trainee supervised by Dr. Bhavana Tiwari DBS, IISER Berhampur, for receiving the Best Poster award at the 92nd Annual Meet of the Society of Biological Chemists 18th-20th Dec 2023, held at BITS PILANI Goa.
2/2 I'm just starting out at the Transposon Lab. None of this would be possible without the amazing support from @iambhavanat, @Sleeping_Pratty, Arun Kumar, and all the awesome folks in the Transposon Lab at @IISER_BERHAMPUR.
1/2 Here I am at the 92nd SBC annual meeting, standing among 600+ posters for my first-ever conference presentation. Exciting news—I snagged the Best Poster Award and even got to give a quick talk in front of top-notch researchers.
@Sleeping_Pratty @iambhavanat@clot_117@BITSPilaniGoa@IISER_BERHAMPUR Congratulations Pratyashaa! Hey Ritwik : kudos Man for the Best poster award and flash talk. Achieving it at SBC is a thing; it’s a big platform. You all are shining stars and budding scientists. Wonderful…A great show.
Attended my first ever "out-stationed" conference. Thanks to my PI @iambhavanat for the impetus and #sbc for the opportunity. Special mention to @clot_117 for getting awarded. @BITSPilaniGoa was an impeccable host institute and ofcourse @IISER_BERHAMPUR for being our base camp✨
Something that is worrying: Although India has become the third largest producer of scientific articles, the number of retractions has increased by around 2.5 times over the last two years.
