🧵 What is Cloud Computing?
If you are new to tech, this is the foundation of everything in AWS
Let’s break it down simply
1.What is cloud computing?
Cloud computing means using computers, storage and services over the internet instead of owning physical hardware.
One part of how Kubernetes works that isn't clearly understood is DNS and the resolution of hosts. The article below walks through how CoreDNS actually handles name resolution inside a cluster, from the moment a pod makes a query to how the Corefile config ties it all together.
The section on the ndots setting is particularly useful. It quietly causes extra DNS lookups for external domains, and most engineers never notice the overhead. Understanding that one detail alone can save real debugging time and prevent unnecessary load across a busy cluster.
The kube guy does a solid job laying this out in a clear, practical way without overcomplicating it. If you work with Kubernetes and have never looked closely at how your pods resolve service names, this is worth the read.

S3 has been around forever and in recent times, AWS has kept expanding what you can do with it. Recently S3 Files was announced and it has a lot of use cases where it makes sense. One typical pattern with Lambda functions is downloading objects to /tmp, processing them, and uploading the result, plus all the boilerplate for transfers, capacity checks, and cleanup. Amazon S3 Files takes a different angle.
The new approach is mounting an S3 bucket directly as a local file system, so your function just reads and writes at a path like /mnt/data and sync happens behind the scenes. The transfer code disappears and the /tmp size limit stops being a constraint you have to design around.

Amazon's data centers are more than 7x more water-efficient than the industry average. Air cooling most of the year, water only on the hottest days. 75% of the way toward being water positive by 2030. Learn more: https://t.co/JcwjrHWPzJ
AWS is open-sourcing Simple Strands Agent, a framework for building more reliable AI agents. Built on model-agnostic design principles, it outperformed popular open-source alternatives across three major industry benchmarks.

It’s normal to be confused when learning cloud concepts.
The key is to keep studying, practicing, and asking questions.

3 AWS Concepts That Confused Me At First
1️⃣ IAM Users vs Roles
At first they seemed similar.
What helped me:
• Users = permanent identities
• Roles = temporary permissions
That distinction made things much clearer.

Now generally available, @OpenAI GPT-5.5, GPT-5.4, and Codex on Amazon Bedrock.
Deploy frontier AI models with automatic scaling through Bedrock's next-gen inference engine.
With these offerings on Bedrock, customers can:
◽ Build autonomous agents that handle multi-step coding, data analysis, and knowledge work with GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.4
◽ Bring Codex, the OpenAI coding agent, into your dev workflow and route all model calls through Bedrock. Pay per token, scale as you go.
