Is this an example of a place of 'contact interface' between "Admin Govt" & "Exec Govt" (ie Civil Service & Politics) where in an 'invisible' process positions are agreed to avoid exposure to scrutiny?

in physical medicine a diagnosis "this patient has got 1 leg" is likely to be widely agreed when evidenced

but translated to psychiatry - "this patient has 2 legs", "...3 legs", ..."0 legs", ..."legs don't matter", ..."4 arms"..."Freedom matters, not legs"...

@MentalHealthCop @asifamhp just raising a thought (or 2) about this "phenomenon" of the Public Inquiry" into Mental Health Care related deaths - Jonathan Zito was murdered over 30 years ago! Still the Inquiries go on! Knew this already yet the import of that hits hard as I read your quote about Tees etc...

If this was a different field of medicine maybe the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) might be working full time on this countrywide spread of cases.

@asifamhp It's almost as if over the years a culture has grown in which not talking about personal mental health has itself become to be seen as a mental illness...if not careful it might soon be regarded as reason to detain under MH Act, without need for any other symptoms or risks....

@MentalHealthCop ...it is a system...Inquiries such as this show up dysfunctional characteristics that result in "perverse" (as per legal meaning) decisions & actions...but of course "the system" is not all "perverse" & many outcomes are positive - but ones that are not +ve persist & persist &..

@asifamhp may recall 1 of the first tweet exchanges he & I had years ago was about defining MHealth actions as "Safeguarding" actions (which is different law!) & I believe a certain Mr Harvey may have intervened as well....!!

@MentalHealthCop 4/- & within that concept of National safeguarding Board (Adults) I include the powers of Review on MHealth Act actions in addition to a whole range of other safeguarding scenarios....I have done some limited lobbying on this...
