Today we're announcing LevelUp: a free, four-week training program that takes people with no prior experience and prepares them to work as fiber technicians on data center construction sites across the US.
We built this program with CBRE because the fiber technician field, and the broader construction industry, is facing a nationwide shortage at a time when data center demand is higher than ever.
How it works:
🔧 Classroom instruction, hands-on labs + team activities covering transferable technical skills
🎓 Graduates have the opportunity to work at Meta's US construction sites through our contractor network
🤝 Open to everyone from recent high school grads to mid-career professionals
Since 2010, Meta's data center projects have supported 30,000+ skilled trade jobs during construction + 5,000+ permanent operational roles. LevelUp is about building the pipeline to keep that going.

I remember the first time I flew on an airplane that took off while it was raining.
At first, I thought the pilot was insane! In my mind, why will you fly when it's raining?!
But something amazing happened as we went higher and higher.
We flew above the clouds, and suddenly, the sun was shining brightly.
It made me realize: no matter how tough things may seem, you should aim to think positively and rise above your challenges.
Just like the pilot guided us safely, trust that God is watching over you and stay calm.
Difficulties don't last forever, and better days will come to you
@Brightgoldenboy@SavvyRinu on a normal day, this is such a reprehensible thing to say, but the context in which it was said makes it even more horrifying for a police officer who took an oath of serve the public
@winexviv That would be a good idea. I don’t think they were crying only because they missed the prize money. Beyond the monetary value, I think the students would feel all their time and effort is being recognized and appreciated. The overall impact would be a net positive
Miss Universe Nigeria Onyinyechi Basil was the co-host for South East Maths Olympiad Grand Finale.
The boy in the middle won the N2 million for the primary category.
We make education glamorous and highly rewarding in the South East.
Statement from the Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, President of the King’s Privy Council for Canada and Minister responsible for Canada-U.S. Trade, Intergovernmental Affairs, Internal Trade and One Canadian Economy:
“As the Prime Minister said this week, Canada and the United States have built a remarkable partnership in our economy and security — and we will remain focused on ensuring the future of that relationship will benefit workers and businesses on both sides of our border.
There is no pursuit of a free trade deal with China. What was achieved was resolution on several important tariff issues.
Canada’s new government is building a stronger Canadian economy, with a plan that is building our strength at home and strengthening our trading partnerships throughout the world.”
From China to Qatar to #WEF26 in Davos, Prime Minister Carney advanced Canada’s economic and strategic interests – strengthening partnerships, diversifying trade, and attracting investment to support good jobs and long-term growth for Canadians.
@FlavioVolpe1 After the trade deal with China, and Carney’s well-received speech at Davos, I was worried this would happen. There’s also an impression that Canada is being ‘punished’, just incase Europe is thinking of a similar deal with China
@fordnation Canada’s over-reliance on a single trade partner is what put the country in this position. What used to be an advantage is now seen as a point of weakness. No matter how you slice it, it’s families getting affected, either in SK, AB, or ON.
@fordnation Moreso, any deal with China may further affect Canada’s trade relations with our neighbours south of the border. It’s tough to please everyone in this situation. Alberta needs their oil sent to the east. I hope the fed govt can find that sweet spot in the middle
