A Filipino doctor, Juan Carlos Manalo, was reported missing in Nepal after a flash flood hit the Nepal-Tibet border on Wednesday.

According to his sister, Manalo was traveling with a pilgrimage group and was last located at the immigration office in Gyirong. The family lost contact with him after the incident.

His sister has appealed to the public for any information on his whereabouts or updates concerning Manalo and the group he was traveling with.

it’s been raining NONSTOP in the philippines for WEEKS. WEEKS. fucking weeks!!! people are literally on their rooftops begging for help. some have already lost their homes. my family and i have been living in a constant state of panic, scrambling to make emergency repairs only for everything to get wrecked AGAIN by the rain. yes, rain is normal. FLOODS ARE NOT. THIS IS NOT NORMAL.

people are losing their homes, their livelihoods, their sense of safety, and some are still waiting for help that should have come long ago. and what the FUCK does our government do? steal from us. steal from the people who are already struggling, keep us poorer, and leave us to fend for ourselves when disaster hits.
