Looking at the past winners and it appears to me that Cooper Flagg is the first ever to win:
National HS Basketball Player of the Year (based on the Naismith and Gatorade Prep POY Awards given out since the mid 80s and Cooper won both of those),
NCAA Basketball Player of the Year,
And NBA Rookie of the Year!
Several won 2 of the 3 and I recognize some great players who might have won the NCAA award skipped college.
However a really awesome piece of history for Cooper!
@MFollowill I like my stats to reconcile, yes! And thanks for remembering Nash....he gets a kick out of your talks. As well as my stories of yesteryear with HS and SMU football.
@ihss_dfw Great show gentlemen. Had the pleasure of meeting each of you individually over the years, and predictions right or wrong are NOT an indicator of how well you know your stuff. And you guys know your stuff! (Heck, I only had Allen as a FG favorite myself).
@MLBMagNum Did you know the White Sox have been sitting with an elimination number of ONE since Sunday afternoon? They have survived 8 possible eliminations (3 Mariner losses and 5 White Sox wins). Not sure I've seen this before. (Even though no one cares)
@JaredSandler Agree that ESPN tampering down MLB coverage has hurt. I'd like to think the end of NHL and NBA seasons will help isolate baseball news to be top stories. As for HRs, agree on desensitized. I honestly believe a big hitting streak would rejuvenate coverage more than HRs counts.
Seeing Augusta would be nice one day, but I mainly want to go so I can see whether the birds have their own megaphones....or if CBS just puts little microphones on them #Masters2025
@degencentral1@SeifertESPN I think the idea is to make the kickers change their methods to kick shorter with finesse instead of just blasting touchbacks
