I’ve had the pleasure of trying some great Rare Character picks over the years. This particular one from Dorns Liquors might be one of the better ones I’ve had in a while. Rare Character has been putting out some really impressive barrels, and this VTO is another great example
Dream until your dreams come true… I was unfamiliar with Dream spirits picks until NC Bourbon Society did one. I missed out on the first one, which I heard was outstanding, so I wasn’t about to pass this one up!
Wheaters are so hot right now… literally and figuratively. Maybe I missed it but I don’t recall the assembly of whiskey influencers really hyping this one up. It might not get the love that it’s bourbon brother gets but it is an excellent pour. One that I’ll keep in rotation
The team at Oaklore has done it again with another stupendous release of their Story Series. This time with an oloroso sherry cask finish. These story series releases alone are enough reason to visit the distillery in Matthews
This Calumet Farm High Rye Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey has a bold, spicy profile with rich caramel and oak. It’s aged to perfection and crafted in honor of 100 years of excellence at Calumet Farm. It’s a delicious way to kick back and celebrate tradition with a modern twist
I personally believe that single barrels are the true unicorns. One particular variant that always gets me excited is Old Forester 100 proof picks. The crew with NC Bourbon Society selected a very unique and absolutely delicious barrel with this one
A Wild Turkey hunt went down this past weekend. I have been wanting to do a side by side comparison of these bottles for a while. Since they had all neared their final pour it was now or never. All 3 are incredible and there isn’t a bad one in the group.
Last weekend we had a great brunch at The Crunkleton. Our group went with a pleasantly funky Old Baker, a scrumptious Seagrams version of Benchmark, a delectable Very Rare Collectors Item and a Kentucky Tavern that was distilled in 1983 in honor of the birthday girl
Yesterday was special. Those that are familiar with this bottle know what CYPB stands for. However, for one guy, for one day, it stood for create your perfect baby 🎀💝
The folks over at Angels Envy hit a home run with this. It didn’t take me long to realize that is one of the best pours I’ve ever had from them. Give me not single, not double, but triple the oak! I’m glad I got to open this up and share it with friends recently
I love gold! The look of it, the smell of it, the taste of it, the texture! When I recently got this I had no idea it was a state pick until a few days later. There are some elevated & pleasant notes that you won’t get on a normal Blantons offering. Overall it’s a very solid pour
@Bourbontiffanys@WoodfordReserve I’m not totally sure. I got it in an airport in Germany about a year ago and there was a fair amount of dust on it 🤷🏻♂️ I would have got another if I knew it was this good
My whiskey journey started with Woodford Reserve. It was all I drank for a few years. I still have a soft spot in my heart for them and I make it a point to try as many of their limited editions as I can. For me, this is unequivocally the best Woodford pour I’ve ever had.
