For anyone wanting to understand the explosion of illegal mining in SA, I would urge you to watch the Netflix documentary on illegal gold mining in the Amazon. It explains a lot. There is always a political imperative to steal, launder money, traffic in people.

@arindube @paulkrugman Krugman is well regarded. I don’t believe in everything he espouses. SA can hardly implement his modern philosophies. We’re neither rich enough nor employed enough to listen to him. Basically, medicine is needed to cure specific stuff. We are not there yet.
