I love Josh Naylor as a person and a baseball player. But the realities of our payroll and the rising LH/1Bs in the system, make it painfully obvious that trading him is a quality decision.

IF Fry needs TJ surgery, he would be looking at a 5-6 month recovery to return to hitting. But it would likely be an additional 3-4 months before he could play the field.

That timeline would make it hard to see Josh Naylor staying in Cleveland for 2025.
