Sustainability is key for HPC. The new Cray ClusterStor E1000 is a good example of doing more (file system performance) with less (materials, elements, power consumption, e-waste) BY DESIGN. Check out the side-by-side comparison with the Dell EMC Lustre Solution below.
Last week Cray and Cray's customers got so many HPCWire awards that it took five people to carry them. Cray always had awesome technology and awesome customers but Cray's reach outside of large government sites was very limited. Combine that with HPE and the future is bright!
A wise man (Niels Bohr) once has said "It’s difficult to make predictions, especially about the future." This is why we are not publishing predictions but what we have contracted (see below). It is going to be an exciting year!
Looking forward to enable HPE customers in 140+ countries to benefit from the unique value proposition of ClusterStor storage systems. Below the latest HPC compute vendors shares from the Hyperion SC19 breakfast briefing from Tuesday last week. It is GREAT to be part of HPE!
Since Blue Waters went into production in March 2013, it has provided 30.8 billion core-hours to scientists across the U.S.A. Data served to the compute nodes by Cray ClusterStor with an aggregate bandwidth of more than 1,100 GB/sec - since nearly 7 years!

The Cray ClusterStor E1000 was the talk of the SC19 show in Denver. No wonder as with 80 GB/sec file system performance from just 24 SSDs in 2U it is the fastest parallel storage system in the known universe.
