I remember how scared we all were. I remember everyone being afraid to go to any place where there were crowds, because it meant it was a target. Living in a city was terrifying. I remember wondering what was going to be hit next. Fear was our biggest threat at that point, and it was working.
And then he did this. It wasn't partisan. He didn't say a word. It was showing Americans, with his actions, that we weren't going to lurk in the corners. The American spirit would live on, and it wasn't killed. It's hard to explain this moment to someone who didn't live through it.

@RepDonBacon @MarshallLocke Sadly, I’m not sure they do anymore. In the worst case scenario, they keep voting for this. In the best case scenario, they’re indifferent. The fruit is bad in either case and I think Jesus would spit them both out.
