Today, June 17, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Most Chaste Heart of Saint Joseph. ❤️‍🔥

The Heart of St. Joseph reminds us of a man who loved deeply, served faithfully, and trusted God completely. He never preached a sermon. He never wrote a book. He never sought attention for himself.

Instead, he listened to God, protected the Holy Family, and fulfilled his mission with humility and courage.

His heart was pure, obedient, and entirely devoted to Jesus and Mary. In a world that often values recognition and status, St. Joseph shows us the quiet strength of holiness.

May his Most Chaste Heart teach us to trust God more, love our families well, and remain faithful in the duties He has given us.

St. Joseph, guardian of the Redeemer, pray for us. 🙏

San Juan XXIII dejó un texto muy conocido llamado “Decálogo de la serenidad”, también difundido como “Solo por hoy”.

No es una técnica para estar tranquilo.

Es una pequeña escuela cristiana para vivir el presente bajo la mirada de Dios.

1️⃣ “Solo por hoy”.

Ahí está casi todo.

El cristiano no está llamado a cargar hoy con todos los miedos de mañana.

Cristo ya dijo: “A cada día le basta su afán”.

La gracia se recibe día a día.

2️⃣ San Juan XXIII sabía mucho de paz interior.

Su lema episcopal fue “Obediencia y paz”.

No era la paz del que no tiene problemas, sino la paz del que ha puesto su vida en manos de Dios.

Eso es mucho más serio que aparentar calma.

3️⃣ El decálogo empieza invitando a vivir el día presente sin querer resolver toda la vida de golpe.

Cuánta falta hace esto.

A veces sufrimos más por los escenarios que imaginamos que por las cruces reales que Dios permite hoy.

4️⃣ También invita a cuidar las maneras, no criticar a nadie y corregirse primero a uno mismo.

Aquí hay mucha sabiduría evangélica.

La serenidad empieza cuando uno deja de querer gobernarlo todo, incluidos los defectos ajenos.

Ya tenemos bastante tarea con los propios.

5️⃣ Otro punto habla de adaptarse a las circunstancias sin exigir que todo se adapte a nuestros deseos.

No es resignación triste.

Es humildad cristiana.

Dios también nos educa a través de lo que no controlamos.

6️⃣ San Juan XXIII aconseja dedicar cada día un tiempo a la buena lectura.

El alma también necesita alimento.

No todo lo que entra por los ojos y por el móvil nos deja más cerca de Dios.

A veces basta una página buena para ordenar el corazón.

7️⃣ “Solo por hoy haré una buena acción y no lo diré a nadie”.

Qué medicina tan evangélica.

Hacer el bien sin escaparate.

Servir sin aplauso.

Amar sin convertirlo todo en crónica.

El Padre que ve en lo secreto ya sabe leer.

8️⃣ También propone hacer algo que uno no desea hacer.

La serenidad no es hacer siempre lo que apetece.

A veces la paz nace de una pequeña victoria sobre uno mismo: callar, ordenar, perdonar, comenzar, cumplir.

La gracia actúa también ahí.

9️⃣ Uno de los puntos más cristianos es este: creer que la Providencia de Dios se ocupa de mí.

No como teoría bonita, sino como acto de fe.

Incluso cuando las circunstancias parecen decir lo contrario.

Dios no abandona a sus hijos.

🔟 Este decálogo nos recuerda algo muy necesario: la santidad no siempre empieza con grandes propósitos.

A veces empieza por vivir bien este día.

Con fe.

Con caridad.

Con orden.

Con paciencia.

Con sentido del humor, que también es bastante católico cuando no se usa para morder.

1️⃣1️⃣ San Juan XXIII no propone una serenidad fría.

Propone la paz de los hijos de Dios.

Esa paz que nace de saberse sostenido por la gracia, perdonado por Cristo y guiado por la Providencia.

Solo por hoy.

Y mañana, Dios dirá.

Each year Jesus' parents went to Jerusalem for the feast of Passover,
and when he was twelve years old, they went up according to festival custom.
After they had completed its days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it.
Thinking that he was in the caravan, they journeyed for a day and looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances,
but not finding him, they returned to Jerusalem to look for him.
After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions,
and all who heard him were astounded at his understanding and his answers.
When his parents saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, "Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been looking for you with great anxiety."
And he said to them, "Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?"
But they did not understand what he said to them.

The Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary holds a cherished place in the liturgical calendar of the Catholic Church, inviting the faithful to contemplate the profound interior life of the Virgin Mother. Celebrated on the Saturday following the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, this observance directs attention to Mary’s heart as a symbol of her perfect love for God and her maternal compassion for humanity. It underscores the unity between the hearts of Jesus and Mary, emphasizing themes of purity, obedience, and intercession that have shaped Christian devotion for centuries.

The roots of this feast trace back to the seventeenth century, when Saint John Eudes promoted devotion to the hearts of Jesus and Mary as complementary expressions of divine love. Yet its formal integration into the universal calendar came later, influenced significantly by the apparitions at Fatima in 1917. There, the Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children and requested devotion to her Immaculate Heart as a means of reparation for sins and a path to world peace. Pope Pius XII responded to these messages by instituting the feast in 1944, during a time of global conflict, thereby linking it to prayers for the conversion of souls and the triumph of good over evil. Subsequent popes, including Saint John Paul II, reinforced this devotion, seeing in Mary’s heart a model for the Church’s own mission of mercy and fidelity.

At its core, the Immaculate Heart represents Mary’s sinless purity, preserved from original sin from the moment of her conception, and her total surrender to God’s will. Unlike the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which reveals the divine love of the Redeemer, the Immaculate Heart embodies the human response of perfect discipleship.

In our age marked by so much spiritual fragmentation, today’s Memorial calls us to emulate Mary’s interior disposition, fostering deeper union with Jesus Christ through prayer, penance, and apostolic zeal.
