We’ve seen a lot of government-funded “Uber style” demand responsive minibus services ended up being scrapped due to lack of usage & follow up funding.

To make a “London style” franchise system work you need to have high population density.

Today I have submitted our response to the West Yorkshire Bus Reform Consultation. I have spoken in favour of an Enhanced Partnership Plus and against Franchising. Adopting an urban franchise model in a rural county could be a mistake. Below is a small extract from my conclusion.
