No Heart Failure Congress 2026, que decorre entre 9 e 12 de maio, em Barcelona, o Prof. Rui Baptista apresentou dados do estudo PORTHOS sobre obesidade e peptídeos natriuréticos.

Os resultados demonstraram que a obesidade pode causar níveis de peptídeos natriuréticos falsamente reduzidos, biomarcadores fundamentais no diagnóstico da insuficiência cardíaca.

⚠️Esta alteração pode contribuir para o subdiagnóstico da doença, reforçando a importância de continuar a investigar e adaptar estratégias de diagnóstico à realidade dos doentes com obesidade.
