🔹 Delivery of ICGS Achal (Yard 1274) to the Indian Coast Guard
The ceremonial launch was carried out by Smt. Shagun Sobti in the presence of Vice Admiral Tarun Sobti, UYSM, AVSM, VSM, DCNS, Indian Navy along with senior officials from the Indian Navy and GSL. Delivery of ICGS Achal was formally accepted by Commanding Officer in presence of DIG VK Parmar,TM, PD(MAT), Indian Coast Guard.
With ICGS Achal exceeding 65% indigenous content and INS Shachi at ~76%, #GSL continues to power India’s journey towards #AatmanirbharBharat, reinforcing sovereign capability and maritime security.

The upgradation has been accorded by the Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Finance, Government of India on 25 Feb 2026.
This landmark achievement marks a defining moment in GSL’s journey of sustained progress and institutional growth, culminating in the Company’s elevation to Schedule ‘A’ status. It is a moment of profound pride and fulfilment for Team GSL, and the entire GSL fraternity stands united in celebrating this historic milestone.
This significant milestone reflects GSL’s robust financial performance, operational excellence, sustained growth trajectory, and its vital contribution towards strengthening national security and maritime capability development. The upgradation reaffirms the Government’s confidence in GSL’s performance and recognises its strategic importance within the defence shipbuilding ecosystem of the country.
