EU entry-exit system.
The EES was never intended to contend with the British.
Most of the “third-country nationals” crossing Schengen frontiers are from the UK.
We add too much pressure in too many inadequate border locations.
Europe must pause and reflect

Heathrow travellers: Elizabeth Line and Heathrow Express trains are currently suspended to and from the airport.
The Piccadilly Line is closed this weekend for engineering.
Best alternative is Tube to Hammersmith, then bus.
No GWR trains running to/from London Paddington, either.
First on Everest: Graham Hoyland has written a brilliant book about pioneering mountaineer Howard Somervell.
Graham will be telling me more at Hatchard's excellent bookshop in Piccadilly in central London, on Wednesday 13 May at 6.30pm. Tickets here, £10🔽

EU entry-exit system: Greece goes its own way.
The EES – fingerprints/facial biometrics taken from all "third-country nationals" – is supposed to operate at all Schengen area frontiers.
But Greece has decided to drop the biometrics for UK passport holders.

@mathingy1@policy_uk@SimonCalder@MichaelRosenYes It’s sort of rude to call people stupid. Many, many people are being caught out as a result of this ruling and holidays are being ruined. If this story saves just one person from being caught out it is 💯 worth it. Thank you @SimonCalder and @MichaelRosenYes
