@JoeBoyd @AndrewYang I think the best solution would be keep a 3rd party's platform small. Once you have positions on things like abortion, gun control, etc, you will never get a sizeable coalition going. But, a 3rd party could focus on specific issues like economics, college tuition, pollution, etc

@jtcyberfm @NewProgressUSA @FreeMars2020 Like I've pointed out time and time again, universal programs, like Medicare for All, do not HARM people on Medicaid. It might not be a NET positive, because they don't get 2 sets of healthcare. But it does allow them to get out of poverty and not LOSE healthcare.

@jtcyberfm @NewProgressUSA @FreeMars2020 I'm seeing that they don't get a NET increase of 1k. They are still getting 1k. I would also understand arguments saying that disabled people need more then 1k a month to survive, and would agree to higher potential income floor.

@jtcyberfm @NewProgressUSA @FreeMars2020 All I see is greed. UBI for you is not an income floor to make sure food, housing, essentials are taken care of for everybody. It's an extra pile of cash that lets you spend on luxury goods on top of the essentials provided by the current welfare system.

@jtcyberfm @NewProgressUSA @FreeMars2020 No. UBI would increase their income. Your argument is that it's not enough. A net gain is still a net gain, even if you think it's not as good comparatively to the gains other people get.

@jtcyberfm @NewProgressUSA @FreeMars2020 Goal of UBI would be to make sure people have money to buy food, housing, etc and other essentials. Maybe disabled people should deserve 3k a month then so they can also get a luxury car to not be abused by the system.

What happens if the disabled person starts working? Do they lose the extra income? If health costs are covered, why do they need more?

@jtcyberfm @NewProgressUSA @FreeMars2020 Not to mention SSI is toxic in many respects, because it forces disabled people (at least the ones that aren't completely disabled) from perhaps doing side jobs to supplement their income because of fear of losing SSI. In other words, it keeps them poor.

@jtcyberfm @NewProgressUSA @FreeMars2020 They don't lose SSDI under his plan. They do lose SSI, but that's because UBI is meant to create an income floor for everybody. Arguing otherwise would be the equivalent of saying Sanders doesn't want to give people with Medicaid healthcare because he's for Medicare for All.
