@jarvis_best What could possibly go wrong? Letting the city burn was apparently not enough, so perhaps it will take being completely embarassed during the World Cup and Summer Olympics?
Of course, but the people paying attention are generally voting. The larger point is there has to be some tangible benefit to this convoluted system, but it is not clear there is. This means it is either a series of incompetent decisions that led to this (certainly feasible), or it was done to ensure outcomes.
@Elex_Michaelson A policy choice that is corrupt by design. If these “leaders” were actually concerned with election integrity they would enact laws that led to confidence, not confusion. Confusion raises justifiable questions.
@Rani_Rant_Fest@Elex_Michaelson Rani, perhaps you could explain why in person voting (with limited exceptions for verified CA residents who are not in the state on voting day) with ID is not the way to ensure that votes are tabulated quickly and fairly so that everyone can have confidence in the system.
In person with Voter ID (with limited exceptions for those that cannot physically be here the way it was forever) makes all of this go away. Oh also regular clean up of the voter rolls of course. No one would be able to question an election again. Instead it takes mental gymnastics to try to justify this ridiculous system.
Or, and bear with me here because this may be difficult for you to grasp, the system was actually DESIGNED to allow for fraud. The better question is why is there a month plus of voting provided for what is essentially one day? Does that seem reasonable to you because it was never like that previously.
@KevinKileyCA Or it is just election fraud galore. With all of the other verified fraud in this state, why on earth would anyone think elections are single outlier?
@NateSilver538 Well it is only tolerated because the party that benefits (again and again and again) controls all of the levers of power in this state. Have to keep the criminal cartel in control...
