Today, I provided testimony at a WI DNR meeting in support of changing the name of a lake. The current name is a slur against Indigenous women. It is derogatory & dehumanizing. Sadly, there were people opposed to the name change. But great news: Squ** Lake will become Amber Lake.
Once you accept that climate change is making large parts of the U.S. nearly uninhabitable, the future looks like this: With time, the bottom half of the country grows inhospitable, dangerous + hot. Those who stay are disproportionately poor and elderly.

I hope UnityPoint Health-Meriter Hospital recognizes that we would be in a much different place if we didn't have the dedicated nursing staff to get us through this public health crisis. That recognition should be reflected in a fair contract.
As Wisconsin continues to bounce back from this pandemic, we must honor the sacrifices our frontline workers made this past year, and I encourage UnityPoint Health-Meriter Hospital to negotiate a fair agreement that ensures our nurses are valued and respected for their work.
Meriter nurses and our hospital and frontline workers have gone above and beyond during this pandemic, even at great personal sacrifice, and they should have a say in their workplace to keep doing what they do best—caring for patients in need.
@davidkwahlberg Got it. Your reference is daily average rather than one day. I do value your reporting. Always great to know Wi still has actual medical reporters like you and Guy Bolton who lives on my block in Milwaukee. Keep up the great work.
A violent insurrection against our Democracy is not showing you "love this country" and when a Capitol police officer is killed and over 140 are injured that is not showing you "truly respect law enforcement." That’s why over 300 rioters have been charged with breaking the law.
