I’m staying on Twitter for now so that sources can reach me, but I am no longer sharing my reporting here. You can find my reporting, and TPR’s too, at the places below.
I woke up to this terrible story in the @ExpressNews today.
Mom kills kids, burns bodies. Family had been trying to get state to remove kids for weeks @TexasDFPS.
I would like to say this tragedy was singular, but it isn't...

Dear Trinity Community,
The university has learned that Kellyanne Lytal, the young daughter of Trinity football offensive coordinator Wade Lytal ’09, has been confirmed as deceased following the catastrophic flooding along the Guadalupe River last week.
Our entire community grieves with the Lytal family, to whom we extend our deepest sympathies and unwavering support. We know this loss will be felt across our campus and beyond.
The Lytal family has established the Kellyanne Elizabeth Lytal Memorial Foundation to give back to the community and charitable causes that were dear to her. You may read more about the foundation at https://t.co/4gStnk630U.
We will share information about campus opportunities to honor Kellyanne at a later date.
We remain grateful to the first responders and emergency personnel who have worked tirelessly with courage and compassion under heartbreaking conditions.
With care,
Vanessa B. Beasley

For comparison, @NEISD averages 3k voters per single-member district in the same May elections. NEISD has 4x the students, but only 1/7 of NEISD voters can in any given single-member district election. @TPRNews
In an ISD w/ 14k students, only 827 people traveled to the handful of polling sites w/ @swisd ballots. And SWISD is an at-large district, meaning everyone who lives in it is eligible to vote for all 7 trustees.
.@swisd election results are in. Still via the district FB page due to the unusual way they conduct elections. The 3 incumbents won (not the former trustees who lost re-election after campaigning to join the general ballot last year).
