1) majority thinks it is
2) trump, saylor, grayscale, blackrock and every other major corporation or country dont give a fuck about our memecoins
3) hasnt been any major catalysts to indicate a trend reversal/invalidation from a fundamental or technical standpoint

Wil $ETH make new ATHs this cycle? Everyone *expects* so. It probably will, eventually.

But.

This also concerns me.

Something to seriously consider is how the crypto industry is changing faster than ever before and for those of us that have been here since the 2017 cycle will know that the current macro scope is vastly different from what it was even 4 years ago. There are thousands of new projects/tokens being created every single day and liquidity is being spread thin. with the direction we're heading in, you can't feasibly expect to see the same behaviour across the board on alts as we did in previous cycles because the market is saturated and the investment options are far outpacing the inflow of $ into the market.

Now let's look at $ETH. It's been sitting at #2 for as long as any of us can remember but so far this cycle has seriously underperformed against BTC and other currencies like $SOL, $TAO, etc. Why?

$ETH is very slow, unnecessarily expensive, has seen a decline in onchain innovation and let's not even start with Vitalik/EF/marketing. Even when $ETH did send to ATHs last cycle, it became borderline unusable due to gas fees and congestion. On the contrary, $SOL is the polar opposite in cost and speed metrics and has captivated the attention of retail this cycle with the explosion of memes, https://t.co/KldZ7D05Ss & ease of use, particularly on and off ramping.

So when thinking forward into the future, as a rational investor looking at $ETH it becomes quite difficult to consider it as a lucrative investment opportunity.
