Appreciate @nypost running my op-ed: “The Virginia Renaissance was the product of principled, disciplined governance focused on the people rather than the political class. What’s unfolding now in Richmond is its deliberate undoing at the hands of Spanberger and her Democrat allies. Now, businesses and families are making their own calculations about whether to stay or go. History, and the voters, will render their verdict in time.” https://t.co/D7WYd7o7Ve
Senator Warner, calling the SAVE America Act “voter suppression” ignores the clear will of the American people. Roughly 80% of Americans support requiring photo ID to vote, including majorities across party lines. Virginians want secure elections, and blocking this popular reform puts politics ahead of the voters.
OH MY GOSH!
The House just voted 215-211 in favor of a special rules resolution,
which instructs for the text of the SAVE America to be attached to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
The House is doing its job.
@SpeakerJohnson is keeping his promise.
My prayers are with the family and dearest friends of Senator Lindsey Graham.
He set the example for being bold, open, and honest about his positions regardless of what others thought. This is a trait far too rare in politics.
Senator Graham was also one of the first to volunteer to support and help me fundraise during a clearly tough Senate campaign. He freely shared his experience and gave his support with so many.
We should all be grateful for his service from the Air Force to the US Senate. 🇺🇸
So the Code Commission “fixed” the mistake that “didn’t exist” for which I was “spreading
Misinformation ”
Except… well it can’t.
The Code Commission can make very minor corrections. Like a small typographical error.
What they can’t do - They can’t add a delayed enactment that was left off.
The Code Commission broke the law - clearly under pressure from Democrats saying there was never a problem to begin with and who have said for two days now I am making all this up.
A lawsuit needs to be filed. The actions of the Code Commission are ultra vires.
The bottom line is the Democrat screwed up. It can be fixed, but it has to be fixed by an act of the general assembly, not by some nitwit knucklehead in the code commission who thinks that they can just cover it up with the stroke of a pen.
There are no marijuana laws in Virginia and any Judge presiding over a criminal case is going to make that finding despite this blatant desperate attempt to cover up a screwup.
@SalimForVA
The hysteria over the unsurprising resent decisions of the Roberts Court shines a light on the real problem facing America today. Of the three branches of government, we currently have an activist Judiciary, a powerful Executive, but a flat tire when it comes to the Legislative branch.
Birthright citizenship, for example, was not expected to be overturned by the Supreme Court. Congress could easily establish common sense legislation that would define more clearly the original purpose and boundaries intended by the 14th Amendment. That would, however, require John Thune to act like an American statesman rather than a RINO hack, so there is, as usual, no hope.
As long as the pansy-ass Republicans mince around the halls of Congress, we are doomed.
