@japan_nobunaga@julie_kelly2 Powerful and moving and of course maddening. ‘Government’ is maddening in most circumstances large and small. Almost like ‘corporation’ but at least corporations sometimes end, face some accountability; government never does. That’s also by design. So sad.
How do they not feel embarrassment, constantly claiming they can end all the world's problems with some small fraction of the amount of money they spend every single year?
@AveryDaye The ‘media’ will never have to explain why but individual owners, editors and publishers should have to explain. They get to cower in the bottom of the foxhole and wait until the clamor stops. Cowards all of them.
I don’t know if it’s a good deal but I know that being president is harder than being a nobody sniping at the president. I don’t know if Trump has heard of suffering in Iran. I definitely think he doesn’t want a ground war. Maybe he didn’t realize that fanatics never give up until everyone is dead. I admit that I don’t know. More people should try it.
@HAHazony@willchamberlain This is just silly. Governments do not routinely release diplomatic documents prematurely just so pundits can kick it around and spout off. Not a serious take.
@politicalmath@CynicalPublius Hard to single out MLB. All the major sports leagues make money despite themselves but the owners have convinced themselves that they’re geniuses.
@libsoftiktok When everyone is responsible (politicians, police, prosecutors and judges) no one is responsible unfortunately. It’s how governments function.
@christopherrufo No matter how silly these carve outs are or how they’re abused and circumvented, politicians love them because they send a message to special interests and they’re a perfect conduit for graft.
@zerohedge Because he doesn’t work for the president. Or his constituents. Or ordinary Americans that support voting integrity. He works for Blackstone and he never forgets it.
