Virgil, Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix (13 y/o), 11th & 2nd Ave., New York, NY • “He’s a hospital therapy dog. He helps everything – kids, the cancer center, the psychiatric ward. He’s named after Virgil Caine because he was found hungry and barely alive in Georgia.”
Ziggy, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (3 y/o), Broad & Wall St., New York, NY • “We work with New York Therapy Animals. Someone asked me, what’s making you happy today? And I was like, Ziggy! Sometimes when he’s stubborn, I’m like whatever, he’s just such a great dog.”
Sampson, Great Pyrenees, N11th & Berry St., Brooklyn, NY • “They’re known for barking a lot, but he’s not so bad. He was found on the side of the highway when he was two. I grew up with Bernese, so I wanted a big fluffy dog, but I wanted a rescue.” A rescue via @nationalpyr
Vink was back in Miami for chemo today. Her bloodwork and lymph nodes all looked good. We've now done more treatments than we have left! 9 down, 7 to go!
This is Patsy. She's getting her nails trimmed. This is the only solution her humans have found to get her to cooperate. We're assured she was bribed with plenty of peanut butter along the way. 14/10
Riley, German Shepherd mix (6.5 y/o), Thompson & Prince, New York, NY • “I got her in Hong Kong when we lived there. My daughter volunteered at a rescue shelter, and came home with her. She’ll drag me into the coffee place every day – even if I don’t want one, we’re going in.”
Miley, Labrador Retriever mix (1.5 y/o), 66th & 2nd Ave., New York, NY • “I’m her babysitter for the day – I own a dog sitting business called Brittany’s Bitches. She doesn’t let me go to the bathroom alone, and she likes to go into the shower while I’m in there.”
